Into the Rootforge is the beautiful lovechild of a roguelike action game, an endless runner, and a deck-building card game. Ride your beloved leafcat companion into the depths of the mysterious Rootforge. Use cards in combat to delve further with each attempt. After each run, use the rewards you’ve obtained to grow your abilities in The Garden, giving yourself a better chance against whatever the Rootforge throws at you next.
Card-powered Action Combat
As you weave through the ever-changing halls of the Rootforge, collect cards to use their attacks. Each card has its own unique properties that change how you play, and a wide variety of potential upgrades. With many cards available, each run brings new, exciting opportunities for combos and strategies.
The Rootforge
Travel into the Rootforge along a shifting grid. Each run reshapes the Rootforge, and the deeper you go, the more dangerous—and rewarding—the enemies become.
At the end of each area, face off against a challenging boss. Use what you’ve gained during the run to take them down, then travel onward to the next area, one step closer to the final encounter.
Grow and Combine Archetypes
After every run, spend your rewards on improving your Archetypes. These themes unlock specialised cards, and enable new upgrades to be found in future runs. Each Archetype has unique features: Tempest allows you to push and pull enemies, Inferno can prime enemies to explode, and Vampirism lets you recover and spend life. Cards also have unique upgrades available only by combining multiple Archetypes together!
